Irrigation Service Technician

Position Type: Seasonal, Full-Time (Early Spring through Late Fall)

Green-Way Irrigation is seeking experienced, detail-oriented Service Technicians to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot residential and commercial irrigation and low-voltage lighting systems. You’ll work independently across our service area, providing routine service and preventative maintenance to both new and existing customers while upholding our reputation for excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics
  • Repair and replace defective components
  • Execute seasonal startups and winterizations
  • Test water pressure, flow rates, and coverage
  • Service 4–8 customer properties daily
  • Track parts and materials used on service calls
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Maintain company service vehicle
Required Qualifications
Experience & Technical Knowledge
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of irrigation maintenance and repair experience with ability to work independently in the field
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of irrigation system components, operation, troubleshooting, and repair procedures
  • Mechanical Skills: Proficiency with hand and power tools; ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Essential Requirements
  • Clean Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with clean driving history (essential for vehicle operation and customer visits)
  • Communication: Strong English communication skills for customer and office interaction
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift 50+ lbs; work comfortably in all weather conditions

  • Customer Service: Professional, courteous demeanor with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Time & Availability
  • Overtime: Willing to work overtime during peak season (spring/summer)
  • Weekend Work: Some Saturday availability required during busy season
  • Schedule Flexibility: Responsive to customer service requests and scheduling adjustments
  • Emergency Service: May respond to urgent service calls during peak season
Parts & Materials Tracking
Accuracy is Paramount

You’ll use our tablet-based scheduling software to track all parts and materials used on every service call. This ensures:

  • Accurate Billing: Parts are documented in real-time for correct customer invoicing
  • Inventory Management: Proper stock levels in your vehicle and facility
  • Service Quality: Correct parts usage and warranty tracking
  • Business Operations: Complete records for service analysis and efficiency improvement
